Dehumidifiers for Garages: Underground Garages and Cold Garages

Garages collect damp air: concrete floors, cars bringing in rain and snow, and — in an underground garage — below-grade walls and little air movement. The industrial page graphics name underground garages among the settings for the industrial line, and this page treats that name with care: it is a graphic’s wording, kept inside the operating temperature range the parameter blocks state, with no performance claim beyond it.

Underground garages, as the page graphics name them

The specification graphics on both industrial pages name underground garages alongside shopping malls, bath centers, drying rooms and home dehumidification, describing the units as high-power industrial and commercial dehumidifiers. That naming is quoted here as the graphics' wording: it is a setting the graphics associate with the line, not a parameter-block specification for garage service, and no garage-specific figure — no air volume per parking bay, no humidity target, no carbon-monoxide or ventilation claim — appears on any page. This site therefore makes no claim that any model is rated for vehicle exhaust, for parking ventilation, or for any garage regulation: a garage that needs ventilation for exhaust gases needs a ventilation design, not a dehumidifier, and a buyer with that requirement should say so in the inquiry rather than reading the graphic's naming as a ventilation claim. What the graphic's naming does establish is that the manufacturer has underground garages in mind for the industrial line, and the garage buyer starts from the industrial models' parameter blocks — 12 and 20 litres per hour, 450 to 800 square metres, 380 volt three-phase supply — with the installation facts described.

Cold garages and the 5-degree floor

Every detail page on this site states the same operating temperature range: 5 to 38 degrees Celsius. That range is the whole answer to the cold-garage question, and it must be stated plainly. A garage that stays at or above 5 degrees is inside the stated range, and the published figures apply as stated. A garage that drops below 5 degrees in winter — an unheated garage in a cold climate, a garage with an open entrance, a garage that sits empty through a cold spell — is outside the stated range, and no performance figure is published for operation below it. This site makes no claim that any model performs, defrosts, or protects itself below 5 degrees, because no page states a low-temperature behaviour, a defrost description, or a cold-start figure. A buyer with an unheated or cold garage must state the lowest temperature the garage reaches in the inquiry and get the matching answer in writing, rather than assuming a unit rated from 5 degrees will serve a colder space. The winter search terms behind this page are answered by that boundary, not by a winter-performance claim no page makes.

Drainage in a garage, and what is stored there

Garages usually have a drain point — a floor drain, a gully, a route to an outside drain — and the drainage arrangement is usually the fit: the industrial models use integrated drainage systems for continuous disposal, and the commercial pages describe drainage outlets for continuous operation. Where a garage has no drain point, the tank question must be asked explicitly, and only the DH-D-60BD is marked as having a tank, with no tank volume stated. What is stored in the garage matters as much as the drainage: tools rust, cardboard boxes soften, stored furniture and fabrics take on moisture, and a car kept in a damp garage corrodes faster than one kept dry. The commercial feature rows describe protecting goods from mold and rust, and the industrial rows describe protecting machinery and inventory from mold, rust and decay — those are the pages' claims, quoted as such, and they are the reason a garage buyer specifies a dehumidifier. A garage used as a workshop adds the factory page's considerations — tools, materials, and the moisture sources of the work done there — and the workshop buyer should describe the work in the inquiry.

Sizing a garage: area, height and openings

The area figures are the garage buyer's starting point, used as published: 80 to 140 square metres for the DH-D-60BD, 130 to 170 for the DH-D-138BD, 450 to 500 for the DH-D-12IH, and 600 to 800 for the DH-D-20IH. A garage's floor area is only part of the load: the ceiling height, the size and frequency of door openings, the number of vehicles bringing in wet weather, and the wall condition all add moisture, and an underground garage with below-grade walls carries a heavier load than its floor area suggests. No source page states a garage-specific sizing rule, a per-vehicle allowance, or a door-opening allowance, and none is claimed here. The guide page sets out how the area and capacity figures are used together, keeping the two capacity languages apart. A buyer sizing for a garage should describe the floor area, the ceiling height, the door openings, the vehicle numbers, and the lowest winter temperature, and let the supplier lay out the unit from those facts. The voltage question belongs in the same inquiry: 220 volt single-phase for the commercial models, 380 volt three-phase for the industrial models, checked at the installation rather than assumed from the building's main supply.

What to send with a garage inquiry

Before ordering, confirm: the exact model and voltage for your site, the area and humidity load you need to cover, MOQ, lead time, and warranty. This page lists only what the source material verifies; anything not listed here is a question to ask, not a specification to assume.
